Hi Glampers!
After their ceremony they had drinks in the meadow from our communal Tipi which gave guests the chance to chat and mingle and chill out in the glorious sunshine.
Shaun and Jennifer chose a wedding breakfast of hot dogs with wedges and salad followed by a giant banana split and for their evening meal they had Indian street food.
Wedding season is upon us this month and we thought this year we would kick start things with our very own Wedding Fair. It was a great day and truly enjoyable and we even had some nice weather which was a bonus! We were able to showcase our Rustic Barn and Orangery as well as our beautiful woodland ceremony area which was styled by Jan from Celebration Ceremonies.
We had Totally Tipi displaying one of their impressive Tipi's as we do offer a land hire option here and this was decorated by Jane Steel from Wedding and Events who's table decorations and hanging lanterns made the Tipi look so pretty.

We had lots of positive feedback from guests and traders who attended the fair which is great, we hope to have another one next year.
We had our first wedding of the year last week, it was Star Wars inspired on May the 4th which I though was brilliant.( May the 4th be with you !) Shaun and Jennifer had beautiful red and white flower center pieces set into wooden logs with tea lights which looked perfect on our rustic trestle tables along with their hessian and lace table runners. The red roses which lined the ceremony path were also the perfect touch.

I have been looking into predicted wedding trends for 2016, it will be interesting to see if any feature in our weddings here on camp, luckily festival weddings seem to be a big hit for 2016 as well as themed weddings such as Star Wars, James Bond and Hollywood Glamour. Metalic's and sparkles will be popular this year especially rose gold and yellow gold. Dipped dye is also going to be popular. Mismatched bridesmaids dresses are also a hot trend this year, many people opting for same colour dresses in different styles. I am a bridesmaid in a few weeks and we have gone for this option. Buffets are going to take a back seat while many people opt for tea parties, street food, posh sandwiches and build your own pizzas.

Hi Glampers!
It's that time of year again, mince pies, mulled wine and Christmas markets. I am a huge Christmas fan and I am always the first one to get into the Christmas spirit. December the 1st couldn't come quick enough for me as it meant it was okay to start talking about Christmas, listening to Christmas Carols and to put up my Christmas tree (I will pretend I didn't actually put it up on November 29th !).
I attended a few Christmas markets/fairs this year and my experience was that some were better than others. I personally prefer the more organised ones, if tickets are booked in advance then the amount of people turning up can be better controlled so you know it is not going to be too over crowded and they generally have some form of organised parking, as driving around for half an hour trying to find a parking space is not my idea of fun! I really enjoyed Ripley Christmas Fair this year, there was plenty of stalls and yes it was busy but not too busy and I could still look at all the stalls and speak to stall owners if I wanted too and try samples etc. The only problem was they had so many tasty food stalls that I ended up buying more for myself that I did getting on with my Christmas shopping.
There was the Camp Hill Christmas Fair here on the Estate itself, it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and I bought some lovely Damson Vodka from a local company that will defiantly be my choice of tipple over the festive period and I got a few more bottles for gifts too.
I also went to Harrogate to visit their Christmas market, which was extremely busy, so busy in fact that I didn't stay very long just long enough to get my German Sausage! It was so busy with people trying to get round it in both directions that I couldn't even get to any stalls to see what they were selling. It was a real shame as the market has the potential to be brilliant but it could just do with more space so people can spread out more and maybe a one way system to control the traffic volume. I could see there was some nice things there but unfortunately I just couldn't get to them to have a look which was a shame.

Hi Glampers !
Autumn is one of our favourite times of year. I love all the different coloured leaves on the trees and the feeling of getting all wrapped up to go outside on a cold crisp morning. For me nothing beats taking my pooch for an early morning walk looking at all the pretty autumn colours in the fields and then coming home to a nice warm cosy house, whilst enjoying warm soups and crusty bread for lunch before snuggling up on an evening with the fire crackling under a warm blanket. and glass of mulled wine.Every year we go conker picking with my partners daughter. She loves trying to find the biggest and shiniest conkers and will collect carrier bags full of them, I'm too sure what she does with them all afterwards but she did inform me they can be used to keep spiders away from your house in the winter. Having not heard this before I decided to ask my good friend Mr Google! and it turns out she was right. It stems from an old wives tale that putting conkers in the corners of your rooms, on the window ledges and by your doors will deter our 8 legged friends from coming into your house. It is believed that the conkers contain a noxious chemical that spiders don't like. So as I hate all things creepy crawly I will be now placing the conkers firmly in my house and picking them daily!
